F.P.P.F. | Yesawi

The Crows Nest Gallery proudly presents: F.P.P.F, Future, Present, Past, Future, an art exhibition about the constant journeys we make in life. The story embodies young people that have escaped from struggle whilst fighting and dreaming for freedom and who survived, into present life. The exhibition will be divided into three rooms, where each will represent different timelines in life through the elements earth, water and air, where earth is the escapism, water the survival and air the freedom; all via installation, visual and artwork.Taking us through a timeless journey of a refugee’s struggle to find identified freedom; F.P.P.F seeks to place you in the heat of a revolutionary dreamscape, momentary peace to no authority or time but rather a freedom from it.

Iraqi-born Yesawi settled in London in mid-90s and is a self-taught artist who’s constantly been exposed to the art and fashion scene. Working with curated spaces such as the Science Museum, Graffik Gallery and Oxfam, Yesawi has taken that on board for his first-ever solo exhibition, where he’s embedded both fashion, photography and music with his own journey.

“Special thanks to Converse and Kevin Martin at Artcore International for supporting my story. Through this exhibition, the aim is to understand that unity and peace can be an achievable goal. After all, we’re all immigrants; it just depends on the timeline.”
